ABOUT ME
LISA M. JENSEN

BIO

I have been practicing almost exclusively criminal law since 2012. I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, and went to college at UC Santa Cruz where I majored in psychology before attending Santa Clara University School of Law.

I started a practice in the SF Bay Area, where I had the privilege of learning from experienced defense attorneys who were gracious enough to mentor me. I made hundreds of court appearances all over the Bay Area, the greater Los Angeles metro area, as well as many rural counties. Every courtroom across California is a little different from the next, and I learned quite a bit just by noticing what each judge did differently, how cases were valued, and how other attorneys handled themselves in the courtroom.

I also worked as a prosecutor in Southern California for two years and got valuable insight into the workings of law enforcement. During that time, I handled many DUI cases, won the award for most trials in the office, and when the Department of Justice organized a training for law enforcement, I was the attorney invited to speak from my office.

When I moved to Redding, I hit the ground running as a Deputy Public Defender and I carried a hefty felony case load from day one. I quickly progressed to where I was handling serious cases with high exposure, including several life cases, before leaving to enter private practice.

In 2019, I was an invited guest speaker at the California Public Defender's Association's annual DUI seminar in Monterey, where I addressed the topics of blood DUI cases and ethical best practices of defense attorneys.

I have handled over 25 jury trials, a large percentage of which were felonies involving possible state prison and "Three Strikes" charges. The number of cases I've handled through negotiations, motions, and other litigation is well into the thousands.

I am well-known in the local legal community in Redding as a conscientious and capable attorney who works hard for her clients.

Most importantly, I am known by my clients as someone who will truly fight for them.
